Twisted Wrister 2020 Logo

As the summer months came to end and the school year was beginning, teams began to practice for the second event of the season to start the 2020 Colorado Prep Hockey League.

The 9th Annual Twisted Wrister took place over Labor Day weekend, September 3-7, 2020, at The Ice Ranch in Littleton, CO. Eighteen teams in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 divisions competed in the USA Hockey sanctioned event.

Shaw Hockey Productions was on-site covering over 20 games on both the LHA and Hawks rinks including all of the playoffs, semi-finals, and final games in both divisions. We saw everything from blowouts to shootouts during the four-day holiday weekend tournament. Manny Furtado and Gabe Gauthier joined us for play by play and color commentary during key matchups while several teams had their own commentators for select round robin games.

“We weren’t sure if there was going to be high school hockey this year.”

– Jorden, Owner of Precision Edge Hockey

Even with numerous Covid-19 restrictions in place, limited spectators were able to catch the live action while Celly’s Bar and Grill was able to seat a fixed number of customers per game and Precision Edge was there to meet players’ equipment and skate sharpening needs.

Congratulations to Valor Christian who took the top prize in the Tier 1 division. Valor Christian also won the Tier 2 division. The Tier 1 and 2 runners-up were Regis Jesuit and Glenwood Springs, respectively.
