It started with a Facebook post. We saw Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation founder and CEO, Marty Richardson, write that Dawg Nation were hoping to be able to bring Dawg Bowl X to a viewing audience of some kind. They said they would try and use an iPad in the rink for some of the bigger games and hopefully be able to do a Facebook Live.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, for the first time in its ten-year history, spectators would not be allowed in the rink for the 2020 Dawg Bowl. Through a mutual friend of Shaw Hockey Productions, we contacted Marty and began a conversation that would lead to the most successful Dawg Bowl ever.

Shaw Hockey Productions live streamed 20+ games over the course of the five day tournament at Edge Ice Arena in Littleton, CO. We covered games in every division including Bronze, Copper, and Silver as well as Women’s, Kids & Adult Sled, and the top-tier Platinum division that featured current current and former NHL players, D1 College Players, and other top-notch skaters. Manny Furtado did play by play for the games and was joined by many special guests throughout the weekend.

Dawg Bowl X would not have been possible without the support and generosity of all of its sponsors. We helped Dawg Nation to solve the problem of how to recognize and promote all of the sponsors with no one present to see in-rink signage nor hear pre-game or intermission announcements.
